Legends of Hobart - David Squires - SOHO Arts Series

Join us for the first of our "Legends Of Hobart" performance series.

David Squires is a prominent figure in Hobart's vibrant jazz scene. A guitarist and singer known for his skillful performances and active participation in various ensembles. He regularly contributes to the weekly Hobart Gypsy Jazz Jam sessions, collaborating with musicians in the community and is also a regular and favourite at Hot August Jazz, MONA Winterfeast, Taste of Tasmania, Wooden Boat Festival just to mention a few.

In addition to his jam session involvement and freelance work , Squires is a member of "The Hot Club of Hobart," a new gypsy jazz group featuring Javier Merrill (guitar), Enrico Bellardi (guitar) and Rick Caskey (double bass). 

Beyond his ensemble work, Squires is recognized for his contributions to the local music community, often performing multiple gigs during festivals and engaging with fellow musicians and audiences alike.
