Join us for another evening of architectural exploration with esteemed Italian Architect Ivo Enrico Poluzzi, focusing on the grand Teatro Farnese in Parma – one of Europe’s largest Baroque theatres. This cultural treasure, celebrated for its historical significance and stateliness, stands as a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. Commissioned by Duke Ranuccio I Farnese and designed by architect Giovan Battista Aleotti, the theatre was constructed entirely of wood in the early 17th century. Its grandeur lies in its magnificent wooden structure, with three tiers of seating, a stunning stage and a remarkable illusionistic perspective.
In his presentation, Architect Poluzzi will unravel the secrets behind Teatro Farnese’s architectural brilliance, navigating through its classical features and exploring the intricate design elements that make this theatre an emblem of the late Renaissance spirit. From the ingenious composition of perspectives to the meticulous attention to detail, the audience will gain insights into the harmonious relationship between architecture and the theatrical arts.
Renowned for his deep passion for architectural history, Architect Ivo Enrico Poluzzi will also share unique anecdotes and untold stories that breathe life into the narrative of Teatro Farnese, and will heighten the appreciation for the significance of this cultural gem within the context of Italian Renaissance theatre.
Ivo Enrico Poluzzi is an Italian Architect and Interior Designer with thirty years of experience in high-end residential and Yacht Design sectors, in particular for luxury interiors and fitout. He earned his Master Degree in Architecture at the IUAV, the prestigious University Institute of Architecture in Venice, Italy.
His works have been published by major international magazines, such as AD -Architectural Digest, Ville & Casali, Boat International, Yacht Design and Barche. He currently works both in Italy and in Australia.
