    Artist Insight

Castlemaine singer-songwriter and performer ELIZA HULL delivers her most honest and striking collection of work to date with her long-awaited EP, HERE THEY COME.

Following a string of impressive single releases (‘Running Underwater’, ‘Island’) and touring that has seen her perform in Australia and internationally, the arrival of HERE THEY COME is even more significant for Eliza – it is a beautiful touchstone moment within a career that has flourished in its individualism in recent years.

Eliza’s new record is a testament of pride in oneself and an ongoing passion for championing the unseen, which directly ties into Eliza’s continued work as an advocate for people with disability, particularly as an artist whose music and work has been affecting change in the Australian landscape.

As Eliza says, "I’m a musician with disability and am passionate about making change so that future generations can see themselves represented and know what's possible."

Along with the release of HERE THEY COME, Eliza has revealed new tour dates for 2024 including returning to her hometown of Leitchville. She was born in Kerang and lived in the area until she was six. Her family still live in Leitchville and Cohuna. These shows provide exciting new opportunities for audiences to witness the award-winning musician in action, having had a fruitful 2023 on the road. Eliza will also be running a song-writing workshop in partnership with APRA AMCOS, which is open to everyone, but is aimed at people with disability.

Her Album HERE THEY COME was produced by ARIA winning producer Pip Norman (Baker Boy) and is Eliza’s fifth record – her first EP release since 2018’s HOW WE DISAPPEARED. The record features collaboration with the likes of Gordi (‘Island’) and Odette, the latter producing the EP’s beautiful title track. Lead single ‘Running Underwater’ was performed on ABC’s Q&A, Studio 10 and ABC, BBC Radio.

Having spent much of this year appearing on stages at SXSW Sydney, BIGSOUND, The Australian Women in Music Awards, Melbourne Recital Centre, Malthouse Outdoor Stage, Sydney Festival, as well as performing throughout the U.K. on a five-week tour that included a placement at Brighton festival, The Great Escape, Eliza is returning to Australia ready to embark on a bright chapter with this new music.
