JOIN US for a practical Rabbit Management Workshop for landholders across the Leschenault Biosecurity Group Operational Area in which we will discuss control options and integrated management approaches to help you develop effective, long-term rabbit management strategies tailored to your property-specific circumstances.

Whether you're currently dealing with rabbits, looking to build on any reductions in rabbit numbers achieved through a recent Calicivirus K5 release, or seeking to improve the effectiveness of your existing management program, this workshop will provide practical guidance on integrated rabbit management and the range of control options available to help achieve long-term results.

Great follow-up to Calicivirus Releases: For landholders who participated in LBG's 2026 Calicivirus RHDV1-K5 Release Program, this workshop is particularly timely. While Calicivirus K5 can be an effective tool for reducing rabbit numbers, long-term success relies on follow-up control measures that address remaining rabbits, breeding opportunities and harbourage. This workshop will help participants build on any gains achieved through the recent release program and develop a property-specific, ongoing rabbit management plan. As we often highlight, K5 is just one component of an integrated rabbit management approach. Achieving long-term results requires follow-up and persistence with the strategic use of multiple control methods over time. To support you in taking those next steps, we're hosting this as a Rabbit Follow-Up Control Workshop.

Come along for discussions with two Licensed Pest Management Technicians, including a professional shooter, a local landholder who will share his firsthand experience and successes with trapping rabbits and the LBG staff. Focus will be on exploring the advantages, limitations and strategic timing of different rabbit control methods, helping participants understand which approaches may be most effective for their individual property conditions and management objectives.

The evening will include presentations from our speakers and plenty of opportunity for open discussion:

• Marc Deas, Feral Logic: Marc will be covering best practices for safe and humane shooting as a rabbit control method, the advantages of engaging professional shooters, and will be available for a Q&A to answer your property-specific questions.

• Landholder case study: A local landholder from Capel will be sharing his experience with trapping on his property — a practical, real-world look at what works on the ground.

• Leschenault Biosecurity Group: We'll be discussing how to develop property-specific management plans and walking through the range of control methods available to landholders; including trapping, baiting, fumigation, warren ripping, harbourage removal and exclusion fencing.
