    Event description

Join us as award-winning journalist, writer, commentator, and passionate gender equality advocate Virginia Haussegger sits down for a conversation with Leni Robredo, the former Vice President of the Philippines.

Leni hit international headlines back in 2022 for what quickly became known as the “pink revolution” – a groundswell of public support from young Filipinos who donned pink and took to the streets in support of the only female candidate in their country's presidential election otherwise dominated by “strongman” machismo politics.

Leni served for six years as Vice President, during which time she earned a reputation as a defender of humanitarian rights, passionate advocate for grassroots communities, and a woman committed to ending poverty and corruption in her country.

Join us at the Australian National University as esteemed political journalist Virginia Haussegger sits down with Leni Robredo for an in-depth discussion of her life and political career. The panel will be followed by a reception where you’ll have the opportunity to connect with speakers and fellow participants over a selection of drinks and canapés.
