    Let’s Groove!: Teaching New Australian Jazz Music in the Classroom

    This online event is an interactive professional development workshop for classroom music educators all around Australia, illustrating how to incorporate Australian music in classroom music teaching plans.

    We will introduce and demonstrate teaching activities from the Australian Music Centre's music education resources:

    • Let's Groove! : Australian Jazz Compositions for the Secondary School Classroom with music by Dr Judy Bailey OAM, Dr Sandy Evans OAM and Jenna Cave

    Completing Let’s Groove!: Teaching New Australian Jazz Music in the Classroom will contribute 1 hour and 30 minutes of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing Standard Descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher in NSW.

    Participants may supply their NESA or teaching number upon registration (optional).

    This workshop will be facilitated by Dr Joanna Drimatis, Music Education Specialist at the Australian Music Centre, with guests Dr Sandy Evans and Jenna Cave.
