Let’s print it! A collaborative printmaking workshop with Julie Paterson (1 day workshop)
Event description
Let's Print It!
This experimental two-part day-long printmaking workshop focussing on playful creative collaboration is a brand- new offering from Julie Paterson. She loves nothing more than getting a group of people together to play and make art collaboratively.
Let’s Print It! Part one
All of us will spend the morning session working together to create a large scale printed artwork on one giant sheet of paper. Using primarily found materials, we will be intuitively block printing, stamping and stencilling shapes, patterns and textures onto the paper.
Let’s Print It! Part 2
After lunch this giant collaborative artwork gets cut into smaller pieces, enough for two A3 sheets for everyone. You’ll then spend a couple of hours making your own eight-page mini art book from one of these pieces, personalising it, working into the paper with words, mark-making and story-telling. The second piece remains intact as the basis for a future artwork (or a second book) that you can develop further at home.
No experience is required and beginners are particularly welcome. Come along ready to play and experiment.
Tickets: Early-bird members $100 (book before 9/02/2025), non-members $115, non-members $135. Ticket prices include materials (printing paper and printing ink)
