What could a more sustainable funeral look like?

Join Olivia Andrews from Funeral Commons and Fiona McCuaig, founder of Walawaani Way, for a free community conversation exploring conservation burial and sustainable death care.

Walawaani Way, on the NSW South Coast, is Australia’s first and only conservation burial ground. Together, we’ll explore what conservation burial actually means, how it can give back to the earth through restoring land to forest and creating habitat for glossy black cockatoos and other native species, and what a circular funeral could look like.

We’ll also talk about some of the more natural and sustainable choices available around funerals, and open up a conversation about how we might approach death care differently.

Whether you’re planning ahead, supporting someone else, working in this space, or simply curious, you’re warmly welcome.

There’ll be time for questions, followed by a cuppa and a chat afterwards.

Free event. Limited seating.
