Let's Talk Local Birds
Event description
Discover the fascinating birdlife of Sydney's Inner West in this engaging panel talk, part of Inner West Bird Fest 2025, a week-long celebration of urban birdlife and the communities who care for it. Hear from Adam Ward, an urban ecologist from the Inner West Council, Aimee Freimanis from Urban Birds at BirdLife Australia and Angela-Robertson-Buchanan, an award-winning photographer and wildlife carer with WIRES.
Together, they'll share insights on the local species that call our neighbourhood home, the challenges these birds face and practical ways we can support their survival and wellbeing.
Join us at the Inner West Sustainability Hub as part of the Inner West Green Living Centre program for an evening of inspiring conversation, real stories and actionable ideas to help our local birds thrive in the urban environment. Whether you're a seasoned bird lover or just curious, this talk offers something for everyone who wants to make a difference for local wildlife.
This event is proudly hosted by Sydney Bird Club, an inclusive community-driven passion project that believes birding is for everyone. We celebrate local birdlife through shared curiosity, creativity and connection with nature.
