Event description

Talking about periods doesn’t have to be awkward!

Join us for a relaxed and informative session designed for mums, dads, caregivers – anyone wanting to feel more confident talking to their kids about menstruation.

We'll cover:

  • How to start the conversation early and keep it open

  • What’s normal during a period – and what’s not

  • When to seek medical advice

  • A look at the range of period products now available (it's not just pads and tampons anymore!)

Whether your child is approaching puberty or already dealing with their first period, this session will give you the knowledge and tools to support them through this important stage of life.

Public Health Nurse Dee Wheeler is facilitating this event. Dee has been delivering education on periods, puberty, and personal hygiene to young teens for over four years, and is also Mum to two daughters.

This event is free to attend and there will be time for your questions. No shame, no judgement – just good, practical info provided. Please note this workshop is for the adults - leave the kids at home!

There are limited places so please get your free tickets asap if you intend to come. If it's booked out, please add your name to the waitlist as places often do become available closer to the time.
