Let’s Make Fire Cider!
Herbal Kitchen Wisdom Workshop
Fire Cider is a slightly tart, slightly sweet, slightly spicy herbal oxymel (vinegar & honey) preparation. Fire Cider is a yummy tonic and is taken in the fall as the weather shifts to support immunity and everyday vitality. Join us as we make Fire cider together as a community. This fun hands-on workshop will be led by herbalist and plant loving nerd Cindy Saylor of Everyday Plant Magic.
What to expect:
Learn the history of Fire Cider & how to make it, why this simple preparation is helpful for cold & flu season, and participate in some hands-on Fire Cider making! We will also be going over some fall & winter tips for staying healthy.
This event will include a tour of the Jefferson Elementary school garden with an orientation to the harvest kitchen garden program.
What to bring:
A 16 oz mason jar with a lid
16 oz of apple cider vinegar - Bragg’s is a great brand. But any apple cider vinegar will work.
Cost:
Sliding scale: $25-$50.
