About the Event

People with disability of all ages continue to experience violence, neglect, abuse, and exploitation. This was highlighted in 2025 with the release of the Disability Royal Commission and remains a significant issue across Queensland.

Domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) disproportionately impacts people with disability. It also intersects with diverse identities, including First Nations people with disability, LGBTIQ+ people with disability, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

This event brings together speakers who have been working collaboratively to develop community-led solutions to address both interpersonal and institutional violence against people with disability. It is time to make our communities, homes, workplaces, and state-run institutions safer and more inclusive.
