Description

About This Course

Most people want to help when someone they care about is struggling. The barrier isn't caring - it's not knowing what to look for, what to say, or what to do.

The Conversations About Suicide course is a 4-hour, evidence-based program that teaches adults how to recognise when someone may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours, how to have a safe and supportive conversation, and how to connect that person to professional help.

Using a practical action plan developed by Mental Health First Aid Australia, you'll learn how to approach someone you're worried about, what to say- and what not to say - and how to support them through a crisis until professional help is in place.

This course is recognised by Suicide Prevention Australia as a safe, high-quality and effective suicide prevention program.

Who This Course Is For

Any adult aged 18 or over. No prior knowledge, experience or qualifications are needed - and there are no tests. This course is suitable for individuals, workplaces of all sizes, and volunteer and community-based organisations.
