Event description

Get ready to unleash the power of kindness and compassion! 🌟

Join us for a captivating Queensland Mental Health Week Mental Health & Letter Writing Workshop that promises to leave you feeling happier, healthier, and more connected. And here's the best part – it's absolutely FREE!

Science has spoken, and the message is clear: kindness, compassion, and giving lead to a happier life, better mental health, a robust immune system, and stronger relationships. Now, it's your chance to experience these benefits firsthand.

Our one-hour workshop kicks off with an inspiring 30-minute session led by Letters of Hope Founder, Abbie Williams. She'll share her own lived experience and introduce you to a wealth of mental health supports and resources that can make a real difference.

But that's just the beginning! The second half of our workshop is where the magic happens. You'll have the opportunity to craft your very own Letters of Hope after being taken through some letter writing tips and tricks. Who will you write to? The choice is yours: a fellow participant, a beloved friend or family member, a complete stranger, your future self, or pop your letter in our mini mailbox to donate it to Letters of Hope.

Letters of Hope, born in 2018, has a noble mission: to spread kindness, shatter the stigma surrounding mental health, and offer solace through handwritten letters to those facing tough times. With each letter, we share valuable coping strategies, words of empowerment, and connect individuals in need with the support that can turn their lives around. 2,750 Letters of Hope have been sent globally to over 24 different countries.

We firmly believe that social connection, kindness, and compassion are essential protective factors for mental health and wellbeing. Join us on this incredible journey towards showing people in their darkest hours that there is good in the world. Don't miss out – reserve your spot now and be a part of something truly special! 💫

This event was made possible with the generous support of the Queensland Mental Health Week Community events Grant Program, funded by the Queensland Mental Health Commission.
