Letters To Keri Hulme
Event description
We celebrate Keri Hulme (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, 1947–2021) in this special event with writers Arihia Latham (Kāi Tahu, Waitaha, Kāti Māmoe), Ruby Solly (Kāi Tahu, Waitaha, Kāti Māmoe) and Sinead Overbye (Te Whānau a Kai and Ngāti Porou) sharing letters to honour the legacy of Keri Hulme’s extraordinary work from the bone people to Te Kaihau to Lost Possessions. We then hear from Gaylene Preston and others who will share memories of one of our greatest writers.
We invite readers to send in their own ‘letter to Keri’ by emailing info@verbwellington.nz with the subject line ‘Letter to Keri’. A selection will be read aloud at the event.
This event is part of a celebration of books, stories, ideas & gathering for Verb Readers & Writers Festival 2022.
