FAQs

• Is this event free?

  Yes! Level Up is free. Come along and support the Tassie game scene and maybe find your new favourite game while you're at it!

• What about accessibility?

  The PW1 showcase floor is an accessible space, and accessible toilets are available in the venue.

  There will also be an audio relay available in the stage area and quiet hour from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday 18 April for our low-sensory friends.

• How do I enter the Cosplay Competition?

  If you'd like to enter the Level Up Cosplay Competition, please select a Cosplay ticket, and be ready at the stage area by 12:15 pm on Saturday 18 April.

  Rules and guidelines apply to the competition, so please read up ahead of time. More information can be found on the event organiser's page: www.emeraldlking.com/levelUPcosplay

• How do I enter the Minecraft Competition?

  The Level Up Tasmania Minecraft Showcase is a competition for Tasmanian school students, coordinated by Tasmanian Game Makers, Inc.

  Students can work in teams of up to 5 to create something related to video games, for the chance to be featured at Tasmania’s largest gaming event Level Up Tasmania and also to win prizes!

  To enter, simply build something about gaming in Minecraft—recreating something from an existing game, or inventing a new kind of minigame with the mechanics available—and submit either screenshots or a world file before 11:59 pm on Friday 10 April.

• Will there be food and drink available?

  Level Up is located in PW1 on the waterfront, right next to the incredible Salamanca district!

  We will have water available for attendees, but if you're after food, snacks, or coffee to keep you going, duck over the road and take your pick from the wonderful cafes and restaurants in Salamanca.

  You can come back to Level Up once all your hit points are restored.

• I want to come to Level Up, but I prefer low-sensory spaces. Will this event be okay for me?

  We'll have Quiet Hour available from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday 18 April, so if you'd prefer to come along when it's less busy, grab yourself a Quiet Hour ticket.

• Is this event family friendly?

  Yes! Level Up is a great family day out.
  

  Please note there are a couple of games on the floor that our team have deemed not appropriate for young eyes, so play those at your discretion.
  

  The games will be located in the same area with clear signage, so they will be easy to avoid if you choose.

• I can't come to Level Up any more. Do I need to cancel my ticket?

  Aww, we'll miss you! We'd appreciate if you could cancel your ticket so we know how many people are attending. Although tickets are free, we have limited numbers, and we'd love to be able to offer your ticket to someone who may be waiting.

• I'm planning to attend both Friday and Saturday. Do I need a ticket for both days?

  Yes please! This helps us keep track of how many people are coming each day so we can make sure the event runs smoothly.
