LGBTQIA+ STEMM DAY (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) 2024 falls annually on November 18!
This year we will be celebrating LGBTQIA+ STEMM DAY by gathering to consider improving LGBTQIA+ retention in STEMM through inclusion in the classroom and curricula.
Come along for a day of talks from people leading the way in LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the classroom.
- Hear about inclusive classroom practice and curricula, and how these may help LGBTQIA+ retention in STEMM fields
- Learn from showcase presentations covering exemplars from different STEMM field
- Join discussions on improving LGBTQIA+ inclusiveness in learning and teaching and contribute ideas for resource development that can be used across disciplines and institutes.
Beyond the Binary – LGBTQIA+ Inclusion in the Classroom and Curricula will be held at Macquarie University's Wallumattagal Campus (20 minutes from Sydney's CBD via the new Metro).
The event is free and includes morning tea and lunch thanks to the generous sponsorship from the NSW Government, Queers in Science, the Australian Society for Parasitology, and Macquarie University.
