    Event description

We welcome all to celebrate a Catholic Eucharist during the Sydney Mardi Gras and World Pride festival in Sydney 2023 on Friday February 24 at 6.30pm (for 7pm start) at The Chapel of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan at 2 The Avenue, Glebe. Due to safety and security as well as space limitation, registration of attendees' details is required for all those who wish to attend, and it is free. For safety and security issues, we intend to fully close registration by COB Thursday 23 February. If you wish to attend kindly contact the interagency or Acceptance directly to note your details.

We invite all LGBTIQA+ folks, their families and friends and allies in ministry to join us for the Lord’s Supper. The liturgy will be in thanksgiving for the gift of LGBTIQA+ folk in the church and world.  Please join us in prayer and song as we honour the variety and diversity that enriches our world and church, and pray that discrimination and invisibility is overcome with justice and love.  After the service, there will be music and light refreshments for attendees. The community is invited after 9pm to adjourn to a local venue around Glebe for further celebration.

This celebration is hosted by Rainbow Catholics InterAgency for Ministry  in conjunction with Acceptance Sydney's 50th anniversary jubilee on Friday evening 24 February. This event is supported by Equal Voices and The Queer Christian Roundtable.

We are grateful to the Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of Saint Benedict for the use of their Chapel.
