Liana Duo @Vacant Assembly
Description
From the sun-drenched streets of Rio de Janeiro to the smoky cafés of Buenos Aires, Liana Duo invites you on an intimate journey through the vivid landscapes of Latin America.
The evening unfolds like a collection of musical postcards, each revealing a different corner of the continent. Wander through the colourful laneways of Havana, where Cuban melodies drift between old buildings and lively plazas; be swept away by the sophisticated spirit of Brazilian choro, where dialogue and spontaneity intertwine; and enter the shadowy world of the tango — from the bustling brothels of its origins to the dimly lit nightclubs where its tales of longing, desire, and nostalgia came to life.
Across Colombia, Cuba, Argentina, and Brazil, these works reveal music that is both outwardly vibrant and deeply personal. Through song and dance, and through the resonance of their instruments, Liana Duo invites you to experience Latin America not only as a collection of places, but as a tapestry of memories, emotions, and stories carried through generations.
