Event description

Celebrate Library Lover’s Day with an in-conversation between co-presenters of That Rom Com Pod, Karina May and Clare Fletcher! Their podcast covers all things romantic comedy: from classic films to contemporary novels and TV shows, whatever gives them that warm, fuzzy feeling. They especially love recommending books from Australian authors in the genre, and are also celebrated authors in their own right.

Includes book signings and a glass of bubbles on arrival!

TICKETS WILL OPEN FOR BOOKING ON 14 JANUARY.

MEET KARINA

Karina May is one of Australia's brightest new voices in women's commercial fiction. Her latest rom-com, That Island Feeling, due to be published with Pan Macmillan in January 2025, is described as "a slickly written and highly entertaining summer read". Her debut print novel, Duck a l'Orange for Breakfast was longlisted in the 2024 Indie Book Awards for Best Debut Fiction.

Karina, alongside her friend and author Clare Fletcher, is the co-host of the successful That Rom Com Pod. When Karina's not writing or interviewing fellow authors for the pod, she can be found researching her next travel adventure or sipping champagne at bookish events - all in the name of research of course.

MEET CLARE

Clare Fletcher is the author of romantic comedies Five Bush Weddings and Love Match, both published by Penguin Random House. She was born and raised in regional Queensland, a setting she returns to in her books. Clare's short stories have been prize-winners in the Scarlet Stiletto Awards, the Best Australian Yarn and Roly Sussex Short Story Competition, and published in The Big Issue and The West Australian. Clare also co-hosts That Rom Com Pod with fellow author Karina May, and works part-time in communications for the Walkley Foundation for Journalism. Clare lives in Sydney’s inner west with her husband and daughter.
