Event description

Launching your own small business can create new opportunities and alternative income streams for yourself. This practical, step-by-step course will guide you on how to launch and grow your small business ideas or take a step back and give your existing business a revamp. This course includes engaging guest speakers, practical information and classroom theory.

Our Community Learning facilitators have industry experience and knowledge to help you safely and successfully take the next step, whatever your current work-life needs, background, age or focus.

To access this course for free you must be a South Australian resident (or hold a valid work or study visa), aged 18 years or older and preparing for work or study, and not enrolled in school or a Flexible Learning Options program.

The 4 sessions will be held on 28-Feb, 7-Mar, 14-Mar & 21-Mar.
Each Tuesday class will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

The course topics include:

  • First steps for setting up your business 
  • Will your idea work as a business 
  • Finding your business niche 
  • Planning for your business  
  • Attracting the ideal customer 
  • Designing a standout service or product 
  • Crafting a great pitch 
  • Finding your tribe 
  • Going digital 

Our Community Learning mentors and trainers are there to support you every step of the way. We treat you as an individual. We will help you to feel confident and empowered, and ready to take the next steps in your learning journey or path to employment.

We will assess your reading and numeracy skills before you start to identify any supports you may need, and to be sure that this is the right course for you.
