    Event description

    Dear All,

The ANU Women in Physics, Astro & Engineering (WiPAE) group in collaboration with Mathematical Sciences Institute (MSI) warmly invites you to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8th March, 2024, from 1:30 - 3:00 PM, at Seminar Room 1.33, Hanna Neumann building.

WiPAE’s event titled “Life as a Postdoc in STEM” includes an oral presentation competition for postdoctoral scholars who identify as women in STEM at the ANU. Two winners will be selected, one by a jury and the other through a poll. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the second winner through a poll. Additionally, the Mathematical Sciences Institute (MSI) will host an exhibit titled “Women in Mathematics”, providing an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of women to the field of mathematics.

We are also excited to announce the photo competitionDRESS for STEM” aimed at showing support for Women in STEM. We encourage you to showcase yourselves working in purple attire! A cash prize of AUD 200 will be awarded for the best group photo of you and your purple crew! This year's theme is #inspireinclusion. The competition is open to all STEM at the ANU. Please submit your photos through the link provided below.

We anticipate enthusiastic participation from all in celebrating women in science! Join us on March 8th, 2024, as we share inspiring stories of careers, innovations, and impact in an informal setting. Afternoon tea and food will be served during the event!
