Join us for a limited edition life drawing series this winter at The Brunswick Green—once a month we'll meet in the cosy front room of the iconic Brunswick Green to draw inspiration from a series of model duets, featuring some of Naarm’s favourite life drawing performance artist darlings.

Each month— from 7-9 pm we'll meet to draw, paint, listen to music and have drinks with the unique opportunity to draw inspiration from two life models performing together. We will be following a traditional life drawing session format for these sessions with two models interacting and sharing creative energy. The focus is on drawing the nude body with minor costuming accents - providing creative cues - making these sessions excellent for budding artists as well as seasoned artists who enjoy themed sessions. 

Spend the last Sunday of each month this June — September immersed in an experimental life drawing experience full of dynamic duos posing under the lights of the Brunswick Green stage among Gregg Araki-esque soundtracks and backdrops. A camp performance art experience with duet style improvisation and character development inspired by Queer New Cinema.

Sessions are two hours long with poses ranging from 5 to 20 minutes, giving time to warm up with more gestural fluid drawings, as well as longer poses to give time to capture details, shadow, and expression of two models dynamically posing as a team. 

Basic drawing materials are provided, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring any materials or mediums you'd like to use on the night—including paints and digital mediums. 

Session will begin promptly at 7, be sure to arrive with enough time to grab a drink and settle in with materials.
