Life drawing - full day
Event description
Our small (maximum of 8), friendly and relaxed life drawing sessions are suitable for artists at all experience levels. This session combines a mentored and untutored session over the same day.
11:30 am - 2:30 pm
In our morning mentored session, you will draw the figure using the materials and techniques of your choice, with a mentor available to support you to achieve your creative goals. Your mentor will also offer technical advice, feedback and comments over the course of the session, working with you to extend your own practice. You are also welcome to spend the whole day as an untutored session, if you would prefer to go with your own practice.
3:00 pm - 5:30 pm
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to implement what you have learned in the morning, creating at your own pace without tutoring. The tutor will still be available, and will be timing the poses in this session.
What to expect
We have life models at every session, starting each session with a series of short warm-up poses, progressing to longer poses.
We provide easels, backboards, personal art tables, chairs/stools. Model fee is included in the price.
What to bring
Bring a rag, an apron, your favourite drawing materials and your lunch to enjoy in our 30 minute break at around 12:30 pm (we have a fridge if required). If its your first time trying life drawing, we can supply some basic materials and instructions to get you started.
You are welcome to use the time between sessions (2:30 pm - 3:00 pm) at your easel, or you may like to spend the time in the garden with a cup of tea or a coffee from our coffee machine.
* If you use oil paints, please only bring odourless solvents*
