Life in a Pot
Event description
Life in a Pot
Cafe Patrons share their favourite plants during the Festival - each day a plant tells its story - online and as plants in residence at Sarah's Sister's Sustainable Cafe.
This is part of a set of displays supported by local gardeners in partnership with cafes who are part of the Semaphore Compost Network. There are designed as virtual events and evaluated by the online postings and community comments. Plants will return to their usual homes at conclusion of the Festival. Spent blooms will return to soil as compost.
Each day of the Festival, Flags will be Flying for Nature outside participating cafes / kitchen.
Sarah's Sisters Sustainable Cafe will be flying the Quandong Flag, produced by community, with the help of Kalyna & Bob, the community artists from SpinFX AustrAliA. The Suzanne Elliott Charitable Trust provided funding for the Flying Flags for Nature project. The Flags are Flown to further highlight events that are good for people and also the planet.
Plants can be viewed online via Facebook. If wanting to visit or dine at Cafe its best to book directly on 08 8449 5817
