Life in the Bavarian Lane: A guided tasting with Slow Lane Brewing
Event description
With hundreds of years of brewing tradition and beer partying behind them, can Australia challenge the biggest beer fest kings and queens? Slow Lane definitely can. Get down OZ-toberfest on Saturday October 21 for a guided tour through the World of Bavarian brews with Slow Lane Brewing's founder and brewer, Alex Jarman.
Slow Lane Brewing takes inspiration from old world European beer styles and produce modern interpretations of these. Each beer has its own story which aims to take you on a journey to where this beer style originated. This philosophy differs to most breweries today. Slow Lane use traditional brewing methods to produce slow-fermented beer. The small size brewery makes it possible to use more labour and time intensive methods that most modern breweries have abandoned. The results speak for themselves.
To join in, just get yourself down to Sacch by 1:00pm on October 21 and grab a Slow Lane paddle. Do you want a front row seat and a discounted paddle? Grab yourself a ticket here!

Such was its popularity in the German town of Goslar and surrounding areas during the 1800s, that there were over 80 Gose taverns (Gosenschenkes in German) dedicated to serving it. By the 1900s, the style had lost its popularity and brewing ceased. Only recently has the style been resurrected. Grain of Salt is brewed in the traditional manner with a mixed culture including lactobacillus souring bacteria and Brettanomyces yeast.
LIQUID BREAD - DOPPELBOCK 8.5%
