The Life of a Building: Architecture Beyond Completion | Panel Discussion & Exhibition Opening

Architecture is often judged at the moment a building is completed, yet that is only the beginning of its story.

As buildings are occupied, adapted, celebrated and sometimes challenged, they continue to evolve through the people and communities that shape them.

This panel explores the changing life of architecture beyond design and construction: how buildings acquire meaning over time, what makes them endure, and how their legacy is measured long after the architect has stepped away.

Moderated by Anthony Burke (Professor of Architecture, UTS; host of Grand Designs Australia), the panelists include:

• Farrokh Derakhshani (Director, Aga Khan Award for Architecture)

• Annette Pitman (CEO, Museums of History NSW)

• Lee Hillam (Principal, DunnHillam; Adjunct Professor, UTS)

• Justin Hill (Director, Kerry Hill Architects)
