Life writing
Event description
Life writing is the recording of memories and experiences whether ones own or of another. It is recording how you remember an event or an occasion. It will be different to how others remember the same event. Life writing allows family information, as well as emotions and feelings about history to be remembered, for example life writing can give the opportunity to pass down family traditions, recipes and memorabilia. Each week you will be given a simple prompt to start you off. If you have ever felt the need to record your experiences or your history this is a great starting point.
This workshop will run over four weeks. Meeting together each Thursday from 12.00 - 2.00 at the Community Centre. The $20.00 fee covers the four weeks.
It will consist of talking about the process, sharing your experience of writing, and a new prompt each week to get you started.
