Are you ...

looking to upskill for work?
wanting to explore a new (or first) career?
interested in picking up a hobby?
keen to improve your health and wellbeing?
thinking about getting your license or learning other life skills?
wanting to keep busy in retirement?
just keen to try something new, connect with others and have some 'you time'?

Well we have just the event for you!

The Lifelong Learning Festival is a celebration of many of the opportunities there are in our district to learn. This festival has two main parts:

An event programme of speakers, demonstrations and performances. (See programme below).
Hands on, interactive experiences from 35 providers of learning of all sorts... community education, tertiary providers, clubs and groups - there are a lot of options out there for adults of all ages!

And because it's a celebration we also have:

FREE FOOD! The Ashburton Lions club will be on hand with their food caravan, doing a free sausage sizzle & giving away hot chips - you just need to find the 'free kai coins' available inside the festival to access the free kai.
FREE CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES and competitions to keep the kids busy while you enjoy the festival
BINGO GRID to complete as you wander around the festival
PRIZES & GIVEAWAYS

This event is taking place during Adult Learners' Week Festival of Adult Learning Ahurei Ākonga. It is organised by Keep Learning Mid Canterbury and the Ashburton Library. Over 30 learning providers, clubs and groups will be showcasing the opportunities for learning that they offer, through interactive activities, talks, demonstrations or performances.

The festival is organised by the community for the community so we hope you'll join us on Tuesday September 9th, from 4-7pm to experience it.

Note: You don't need to get tickets to attend - you can just show up on the day. But getting tickets helps us know roughly how many people are coming. We can also send you any last minute useful information before the festival starts. You do not need to show the tickets on the day.
