    Event description

We are so used to the presence of light in our lives, we probably don't stop to think about it, unless there's a storm and a power cut! What most people don't realise is that light is used today for so much more than illumination. In this talk, I'll introduce some concepts that demonstrate how light has transformed our lives. I invite you on this short journey with me but be warned... I travel light!

Audience: Open to the public (no scientific background required)
The lecture will be held in the Horace Lamb Lecture Theatre from 5:30 - 6:30 PM.
    Refreshments will follow the lecture.
