This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Your local Federal MP and Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney invites you to a community town hall meeting to learn more about the Voice referendum. Together we will talk about why constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a Voice to Parliament is a crucial step in the walk towards reconciliation. Attendees will have an opportunity to share their feedback and learn about ways to engage in the local community. This meeting is open to all community members and you can join in person or online.

What: Understanding the Voice
When: Saturday 24th June at 11am to 12.30pm
Where: Online & Rockdale Town Hall

This is an opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and engage in a constructive conversation about the Voice Referendum and its potential impact. The voice was a key ask from the Uluru Statement from the Heart which was an invitation to all Australians to recognise the ancestral ties that have existed for over 60,000 years and empower all First Nations people to have a Voice in their future. We are wholeheartedly accepting the invitation and would like to invite you to join us to walk together towards this historic reform.
