Welcome to the conversation you might NOT have been expecting this Pink T-Shirt day!

At our May LinkedIn Local, we're bringing together three people who work in an area you may not naturally associate with Pink T-Shirt Day's efforts. BUT, it's a conversation worth speaking about because our world is changing, roles are changing, but what's not YET changing is how we often need help to connect and support each other through the many asks of life.

As we face into what is globally called the loneliness epidemic, and where AI is changing ways we work, we are still very (and, as Anna might share with us on Friday, only) human.

Our brains are often full, and yes we crave connection with others (yet adult friendships can be hard to find at times, certainly not just work or sports related ones!), and we have different asks of how we connect based on how, where, and dare we say, what gender we were raised.

It is, tricky to be human, but this conversation is the best in town you'll find this friday - with a room full of awesome humans to mingle and meet beforehand, too!

Meet the panel:

Jarrod Moyle is a working dad of three boys juggling a full-time job and a big passion project on the side. He founded Morning Meetup, a men's connection group built on the belief that showing up for each other matters, and recently walked in support of Spoke to a Bloke, a community dedicated to real conversations between men. A podcast is in the works too. Jarrod is living proof that you can do the day job and still show up for something bigger that reshapes how we role model things for our kiddos.

Anna Veale (Fresh Coaching) has spent much of her career coaching in professional sport, and now is a coach for those seeking high performance (not just in work settings). She has a particular strength and focus when working with men, and so not surprisingly, she developed the MENS framework (Mindset, Exercise, Nutrition, Sleep) as a practical pathway to mental fitness, and she's the author of Only Human. She once exercised for every minute that a New Zealander had died by suicide, over 24 hours, raising funds for the Mental Health Foundation.

Diogo Freire is co-founder of PAM (Personal Admin Manager), an AI-powered family planning app built to reduce mental load. What makes his take so interesting here is the data behind it: who our families default roles play out and how we make presumptions even with good intentions when in the midst of the business of daily life. Diogo brings a practical, data-grounded lens on what sharing the load looks like, and lived experiences as a dad of young children building a business around family.

15 May is Pink Shirt Day, so wear pink if you've got it and we'll be donating a portion of ticket sales to the Mental Health Foundation.

When: Friday 15 May, 8.30–10.30am Where: Basestation, Tauranga Tickets: $10

Grab your ticket, why not make it two, and bring a friend?! And remember, if you, too are a working parent, these events don't have a "hard start" so you can definitely do the school drop and still come along after that.

Enjoy connecting with new and familiar LinkedIn friends and be sure to snap your ticket up as this will be another sell out!

This low-cost, non-selling LinkedIn Local Tauranga event is a chance to get to know the real people behind the LinkedIn profiles you admire and make lasting connections without the pressure of a sales pitch.
