Event description

Carve your own lino print artwork inspired by local native plants and animals.

You’ll be guided through the lino carving and printing process, to make your own artwork inspired by nature.

As part of the workshop you will explore the sanctuary learning about the local native plants and animals, and selecting your own plant materials to draw inspiration from.

You will also have the option to create an embossed ceramic vessel from your lino plate (time allowing).

Learn from artist Harriet Geater-Johnson who specialises in nature connection art including lino printing, ceramics, fabric art and more.

The EcoClassroom Sanctuary at Tatachilla Lutheran College is a 3.37 ha revegetated site, modelled on natural ecosystems that once existed in the McLaren Vale region. The sanctuary is home to native fauna including endangered Brush-Tailed Bettongs, Long-Nosed Potoroos and Tammar Wallabies, as well as lizards, frogs and birds throughout. The workshop space is a rammed earth sustainable building connected to the plants and animals surrounding.

Suitable for: adults and older responsibly over 14 year olds (if also accompanied by an adult)

We have First Nations sponsored places available, and may be able to offer sponsored places for those struggling financially.

Please contact Dani Austin at eco@tatachilla.sa.edu.au for more details or if you have any questions.

This event is supported and subsidised by the City of Onkaparinga and Willunga Environment Centre in partnership with Tatachilla Lutheran College.
