Linville Bikes and Beers
Event description
The Linville Bikes and Beers is a long weekend (Sat to Mon) gravel cycling event on the BVRT. The event will be fully supported with ride leaders and vehicle support for all rides. We are working with the Linville Hotel to make this a great social long weekend in the country. The event will include the Filthy Fern-Ville 200 and Red Deer 100 events as run in October 2023.
This is a fantastic opportunity to try some bike packing on a supported event.
Accommodation at the Linville Hotel is limited and it will be on a first in first come basis. There is no limit on the camping option numbers.
The program is as follows:
Saturday 4 May 24
Ride option 1 - Depart Fernvale (Tourist Information carpark) at 8am (arrive by 7.30am) - 100km ride to Linville
Ride option 2 - Depart Esk (Brisbane Valley Roasters) at 10.30am- 54km ride to Linville
Overnight Linville
Accommodation option 1 - Linville hotel
Accommodation option 2 - Camp (Free) at Linville Camping ground opposite Linville Hotel
Sunday 5 May 24
Ride option 1 - Linville to Yarraman return (84km)
Ride option 2 - Linville to Blackbutt return (48km)
Ride option 3 - No ride and just chill at Linville Hotel
Overnight Linville Hotel
Monday 6 May 24 (Public Holiday)
Return ride to either Fernvale or Esk.
All rides will have vehicle support.
Riders can either bike pack or place gear in the support vehicle (both for riders camping and staying in the hotel.
Cost
Camping option - $80pp (this is for the ride support on each day and breakfasts)
Hotel option
- Double (2 people)/Twin/triple share (single beds) - $220pp
- Double (1 person) - $440pp

Baggage transfers to and from Linville

Q. What sort of bike can I ride?
A. Gravel and MTB and E versions of both are allowed.
Q. Can I make other accommodation arrangements?
A. Yes. Just book as the camping option in this case?
Q. Do I need to do all 3 rides?
A. No. The Sunday ride is optional

A. Yes. This is a perfect opportunity to practise carrying gear on a ride
