Taylors Lakes Lions 2nd Annual Community Music and Picnic in the Park, featuring two stages of live music, kid's entertainment precinct, food vans, market stalls, and heaps of fun!
On Sunday 10 April 2022
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
LOCATION
Taylors Lakes Linear Park
Chichester Drive,
Taylors Lakes, VIC 3038
The Lions Family Music Fest & Picnic Day will provide a welcome chance for members of the local community to enjoy the surrounds of the lovely Taylors Lakes Park following the isolation of COVID restrictions, enjoying a picnic and free entertainment provided by local and surrounding musicians. With three precincts of entertainment, people will be able to bring a picnic or buy food provided by local food vendors and, of course, the Lions BBQ. The event will also be enhanced by select market stalls, following the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 Community Markets.
Local musos will get an opportunity to perform, after once again having months without an audience, and patrons will be able to sit and enjoy music and good food, at the same time supporting the "re-launch" of Taylors Lakes Lions, the local service club, which has also suffered huge disruption to events, activities and projects during extended lockdowns.
This is primarily a day to bring the community together, however the Lions Club will take some opportunities to raise funds for charities and local projects. All funds raised by the club on the day will go towards the work the Lions Club does. Taylors Lakes Lions are committed to serving the community with strength and purpose, and we have a range of current focuses and projects:
- Direct donations to Lions Foundations including (but not limited to) Childhood Cancer Research, Drug Awareness, Australian Lions Foundation emergency funds, Prostate Cancer, childhood mobility, Skin Check and Awareness Unit (V Districts Cancer Foundation)
- Donations to other charities deemed worthy by the Lions Club Board
- Handbags for women in critical need, stocked with health and hygiene products
- Adopt a Park (section of Taylors Creek Linear Park) and other environmental projects
- Junior Public Speaking program
- Primary School Civics and Citizenship awards
- Supporting our new Branch - "Greening Taylors Lakes and Surrounds", which has as a new project, the creation of a Community Garden
- And more!
100% of funds raised from the public goes back to the community!
