When you speak, your community listens. Stop harm before it starts.

"That's how families are." "We don't talk about this in my culture." When harm is brushed off as "just part of life," it keeps happening. Silence makes people feel invisible and unsafe. It stops people speaking up, and it leaves communities without the tools to prevent harm.

LISTEN is a hands-on workshop where community leaders and organisations design culturally grounded tools to support the prevention of violence and harm. You'll learn how to spot small issues early and speak about them safely. You'll leave with practical strategies you can use in your community straight away.

In this two hour taster session you'll get the chance to meet the facilitators, try some of the activities, and tools, and see if the full workshop might be right for your community.

Workshop
Monday 2nd November, 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Interactive activities, storytelling prompts and co-design exercises, with practical strategies to take home.

What to expect
LISTEN is delivered by experienced facilitators from the Ethnic Rainbow Alliance, who bring lived experience, cultural insight and deep community connections. The space is safe and engaging for everyone.

What you'll gain

Confidence to name harm. Easy prompts and tools help you say what's happening without blame.
Tools that fit your culture. Build prevention actions rooted in your community's values, not a one-size-fits-all script.
Connections that protect people. Meet others who want the same thing: to feel heard safely, and to protect each other before harm happens.

Who it's for
Everyone within community organisations: frontline staff, leaders and support workers. A whole community approach means everyone shares a common understanding and plays a vital role in creating culturally safe, inclusive environments that protect and empower ethnic rainbow people.

What people say
"Made me feel in control of the work, not just another workshop."
