Listening Circle

Join Artspace in the final weeks of Christopher Kulendran Thomas’s Safe Zone for a Listening Circle curated and produced by Munasib.

Combining music and an open dialogue, the Listening Circle is an intergenerational gathering centred in Eelam Tamil creativity and expression. It will feature a multi-genre soundscape and curated vinyl selection by Aotearoa/New Zealand-based Tamil artist GoldTooth, an intimate live performance by siblings Saieesh and Nishevitha Shanmugarajah and a group conversation facilitated by KS Sanchayan and Senthan Sanchayan.

This program privileges the act of listening closely: listening to music, listening to others, and listening to stories barred from official histories. To participate, please come with a question or idea that Christopher Kulendran Thomas’s work has raised for you. We encourage you to bring along someone from another generation—a relative, friend or community member—to share in the experience.
