Listening Practice series
About the sessions
In a series of sessions paying tribute to the Japanese listening café tradition, we will quietly share the pleasure of listening to a vinyl record. Join us in the rare calm of an hour in Melbourne School of Design’s Japanese Room as we take the opportunity to focus our often-neglected practice of observation through listening. This intentional listening experience will be guided by slow looking practitioner Dr Olivia Meehan. Each session the listening programme will focus on a different record of either Jazz, Ambient, or Piano music.
What to expect:
A 60-minute close listening experience with opportunities for discussion afterwards.
A small group in a delightful architectural environment.
Device-free environment - just bring yourself!
