A Literary Lunch - Lunch with a side of Mystery will be an immersive event to connect readers with authors, and to inspire an explosion of creativity amongst all those itching to capture a story, memoir or aspect of history.

It is scheduled to occur on the 3 February 2024, at the Walwa Recovery Centre, a spacious modern community centre boasting a picturesque outlook down to the Murray River and the hills of Southern NSW.

The Upper Murray has a rich literary history with some outstanding authors and a myriad of intriguing stories, many yet to be revealed!

Lunch with a side of Mystery will encourage emerging and aspiring authors, re-energise established writers, and engage avid readers with new books in a setting with scenery which will stir the senses and an event which will satisfy appetites for literature, entertainment and fine food.

You will be treated to the insights of enthusiastic, energetic speakers, an opportunity to network with other bibliophiles, an extensive display of classic books produced from authors resident in the Upper Murray and with subject matter relating to the district, a book fair from UMWriters  and, to top it off, a fabulous lunch, -  a sumptuous two course lunch with a mysterious menu!

This event has been made possible thanks to funding from Regional Arts Fund, via the Australian Government Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia. Additional funding from Emergency Recovery Victoria means we can offer a $20 discount on ticket price to residents of the Bushfire impacted communities of Towong and Snowy Valleys Council districts.
