Step into the golden heart of summer with Litha Dance, an evening of ceremony, movement, and magic.

Litha, the Summer Solstice, also known as midsummer, marks the longest day of the year. It is the moment the sun stands at its peak, radiating abundance, vitality, and life. Bonfires were traditionally lit to honor the sun’s strength, herbs were gathered at their most potent, and communities came together in celebration of growth, love, and protection.

Woven into the spirit of Litha is the presence of the Green Man, the spirit of the forest. He is the ancient symbol of wild nature, renewal, and the forest at its pinnacle. Often depicted as a face formed of leaves and vines, he represents the flourishing vitality of the natural world at its peak. At midsummer, the Green Man stands in his fullness, embodying growth, passion, and the untamed life force that pulses through all things. Honoring him invites us to reconnect with the land, our bodies, and the cycles that sustain us.

We will gather in circle to honor these timeless customs. Through dance, yoga, and ceremony, we will reflect and acknowledge the beauty of the sun as its light will begin to wane after the solstice.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

THE LABYRINTH

At the heart of our ceremony will be the labyrinth. You will have the opportunity to walk our spiral labyrinth... a portal... a sacred, meditative path symbolizing the journey inward and outward. With each step, you are invited to release what no longer serves, receive clarity, and reconnect with your inner fire. This ancient practice mirrors the sun’s arc across the sky and our own cycles of growth and transformation.

Bring an offering to place in the middle.

MUGWORT MAGIC/LITHA CEREMONY

Begin your evening with by working with the magic of Mugwort.

Allie will guide us through a summer solstice ceremony. We will work with the energetics of mugwort as we set intentions and bless our creations. We will breathe, honor the sun, and give gratitude to the Green Man during our ceremony.

Mugwort flourishes in full sun and can often be found on the forest's edge. It is resilient and abundant at this time of year making it a perfect companion for our ceremony.

It's healing properties come in many forms:

• When burned it offers protection and clearing of energy.

• When hung in your doorway: it offers protection of the home.

• When hung or placed by your bed: it evokes lucid and psychic dreams.

• When steeped in tea: it evokes lucid, psychic dreams and reduces inflammation in the body.

Create a smoke wand, a crown, or mugwort "necklace."

We will work with our bundles of mugwort during our ceremony.

An opportunity to slow down to be with our bodies’ sensations

Easeful stretches to prepare our bodies for an epic dance

ECSTATIC DANCE WITH DJMK

Flow, breathe, and move through an ecstatic dance set with DJMK. She brings energy of vitality through her sounds, a perfect companion when communing with the sun during Litha.

COOL DOWN WITH SIMCHA

Simcha will guide us into stillness through Kundalini meditation, mantra, and hums, softening us from movement into stillness so we can offer collective Reiki for the World. A bridge between fire and water, she will then guide us into Jayme's sound bath so the medicine of the evening can land in your bones, and the beauty of our celebration can ripple into your daily life.

BRING WITH YOU:

• Offering for the Labyrinth - could be herbs, a symbol of the sun, honoring of a loved one that has passed... whatever you feel called to leave.
