Fearless Women Little Lunch with Guest Speaker Dr. Liz Allen
Event description
Not breakfast, not dinner! … women are busy with their own lives, work, family, and recreation … so lunch it is. Fearless Women is hosting a series of lunchtime talks throughout the year. Our BIG and LITTLE lunches will bring women (and men) together for networking and for inspiration from an interesting and notable female speaker.
Our first LITTLE Lunch, on Wednesday 19 June at 12.30pm, will be held at Yellow Edge's Innovation Centre,
9 Sydney Avenue Barton
Dr. Liz Allen, our guest speaker, describes herself as “not very extraordinary”, but her life has been far from ordinary. From high-school dropout, homeless, and a teen mum, the now ANU demographer and population commentator, Liz says life on the edge has afforded her a unique power to help those who can’t help themselves. Her bold and fearless book, The Future of Us, does more than help you find your inner statistician. Looking beyond births, deaths and marriages, as it takes apart inequality and home ownership. Liz , AKA as Dr Demography, in 2018 was named in the inaugural ABC Top 5 Humanities and Social Sciences academics in Australia.
