Little Mountaineers Nature Playgroup, Round Mountain 5 September 2026, 10:30am - 12:30pm.
Presented by Bush Kindy Teaching (Book & Branches Pty Ltd, ABN 33 677 599 058).
About the session
Little Mountaineers is a facilitated outdoor nature playgroup session for children under 5 and their families, running from 10:30am to 12:30pm. It includes loose parts nature play, craft, mud kitchen and, conditions permitting, shallow-edge exploration at the creek.
Your child stays with you
This is not a drop-off program. You must remain present and actively supervising your child for the whole session, including at the creek. The Bush Kindy Leader facilitates the activity. They do not supervise children and they are not a lifeguard. If your child is a baby or is not yet walking steadily, please keep them in arms or keep hands on them at all times in and near the water. Very shallow water is still a drowning risk for infants and new walkers.
Creek activity
Creek exploration is shallow-edge only. There is no swimming or immersion. Water carries inherent risks including slippery rocks, uneven and unstable banks, changing water depth, submerged objects, and water quality that can vary after rain. If conditions are not suitable on the day, the session will run without the creek component. The pond at the end of the creek is out of bounds. Please keep your child within the marked creek section. Please keep your child out of the water if they have any cuts, grazes or broken skin, or if they have had an upset stomach in the past 48 hours.
Inherent risks
Nature playgroup is an outdoor activity and involves inherent risks, including uneven ground, trips and falls, weather and sun exposure, insect bites and stings, plant contact, natural materials such as sticks and rocks, and proximity to water. By registering, you acknowledge these risks and accept responsibility for deciding whether the activity is suitable for your child.
Health, allergies and additional needs
Please tell the Bush Kindy Leader on arrival about any medical condition, allergy, or additional need relevant to the session. You remain responsible for administering any medication your child requires, and for bringing anything they need such as an adrenaline auto-injector or asthma reliever. Please cancel your attendance if your child is unwell.
First aid and emergencies
You consent to the Bush Kindy Leader providing first aid to your child if needed. In an emergency, we will notify you immediately, and if necessary take reasonable steps to obtain medical attention. Any ambulance or medical costs are your responsibility. Please provide up to date contact and next of kin details at registration.
What to bring and wear
Closed-in shoes that can get wet, clothes that can get dirty, a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, insect spray and a change of clothes. Please wash hands after creek play. A Vest will be provided to your child and must be worn during play in the activated creek space at all times.
Behaviour
You are responsible for your child's behaviour towards other participants, our leader and the environment. We may ask you to step in, or end your child's participation, if behaviour is disruptive or poses a risk to others.
Belongings
Please take all belongings and rubbish with you. We are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
No smoking, vaping or alcohol during the session.
Photography
Bush Kindy Teaching does not photograph or film children. We may photograph our own equipment and setup where no children are identified. Any event photography is arranged separately by the event organiser, and consent for that is managed by them.
Weather
The session runs in most weather. If conditions become unsafe it may be relocated, adapted, shortened or cancelled. That decision rests with the Bush Kindy Leader.
