Event description

Writing WA and Perth Library present the launch of Live and Leave Well: Reflections of a Lifelong Nurse.

In early 2023, Peter Rebbechi began searching for an author to help share the reflections of her long career as a nurse. She was put in contact with sociologist and Family Tales founder, Christian Mauri, Ph.D. This book is the fruit of their collaboration and the visual contributions of local artists. It shares lessons on nursing as a vocation, the state and possible futures of the Australian health system, advice for the end of life, and the final wish of a woman who has spent her life helping others to live and leave well.

Introduced by CEO of Writing WA, William Yeoman, and facilitated by Lisa Evans, this special event will include a live reading, discussion, and signings with Christian and Peter. It will also include signings and Q&A for Peta's 2021 biography, A Girl Called Peter.

11am - 12pm Saturday January 25

State Library of WA, 4th Floor, Great Southern Room

Event spots limited. RSVP essential.

Hard copies of Live and Leave Well and A Girl Called Peter will be available for purchase at the event.

Christian and Peter would like to acknowledge Shoma Mittra for her supported in arranging this event.
