Live Art Event- Mythological Creatures
Description
Step into a living exhibition where imagination takes shape. Mythological Creatures invites you to help local artists bring dragons, gnomes, a phoenix and a giant kraken to life at the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
Over two days, 16 artists will create on-site using sustainable materials- while you become part of the process. Build a mini army of monsters from recycled toys and plasticine, help craft a 6-metre peacock tail across the windows, or design your own creature using chalk and paint in the forecourt.
This is not a traditional exhibition- it’s playful, hands-on, and ever-evolving. As director Jo Draisma explains, “It’s about active participation… the fun part is that we don’t know how it will look in the end.”
Free and open to all ages, with all materials supplied.
Join us Saturday May 2 & Sunday May 3, 10am–4pm.
Final artworks on display until May 24.
