ABOUT KRISTEN SMYTH:

Kristen Smyth is a playwright, performer and painter most recently from Melbourne having moved to Mullum in February this year. Originally from London, her adaptation of Frankenstein sets the world in Thatcher’s gothic 1980s Britain. This reimagining brings together the scientist, the creature and a cast of characters that includes Thatcher, Jason Statham, Pink Floyd, Ian Curtis and Joy Division. The reading will be the first public reading of the script having most recently been developed in Brooklyn NYC. This development reading will be an important stepping stone to the first of two huge seasons for Kristen’s show - the Edinburgh Festival in August and then the ArtsCentre in Melbourne later this year.
