Event description

This Sonic Sunday we feature Ruby Archer + Tiali

Enjoy free live music played by a variety of talented performers with Sonic Sundays. Presented each Sunday by Naughty Noodle Fun Haus at the FunHaus Factory in Gosford.

Ruby Archer is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from the NSW Central Coast who creates jazzy, funky rock with feminist undertones and husky vocals. Her debut EP chamomile tea attracted several song writing awards and after putting together a band of like-minded musicians, Ruby and the Groovy Doobies won first prize in YouthRock 2022.

Ruby won the 15 Years of triple j's Unearthed High Competition and the chance to perform with her Groovy Doobies at Vivid Sydney. She was included in the 2023 triple J Unearthed High Yearbook as the artist “most likely to invent an entirely new chord” and was also featured in the half hour documentary Music Central (ABC Compass) about the power of music to create connection and healing on the NSW Central Coast.

Ruby took out the Youth Category at the Australian Songwriters Association Song Writing Awards for her single New Dream. Ruby’s debut album Oh So Tender, showcases her diverse song writing abilities and was released to critical acclaim at the inaugural 2023 Tubular Music Festival.

"Seeing you live made me an instant fan. You've got buckets of raw talent and the vocals remind me a lot of Thelma Plum in her early uploads" - Abby Butler, triple J Unearthed Community Producer.

"Ruby mixes drama and darkness so comfortably. It's all boiling away nicely in her bluesy cauldron" - Dave Ruby Howe, triple J Music Director.

Tiali is the musical embodiment of a David Lynch heroine. Her music is surreal, dreamlike and addictive, with a dangerous undercurrent that pulls you in.
Her soulful, husky vocal delivers a sultry alternative rock feel; with songwriting that draws from personal experiences, expressing her views on society, culture and the issues she sees within it.
Grungy guitar mixes with blues, jazz, punk, slivers of shadowy psychedelia and a pinch of influences like Mazzy Star and PJ Harvey, creating a sound that refuses to be pinned down.

Alluring and powerful, Tiali is the pixie dream girl turned witchy woman who's come to steal your heart.

Enjoy delicious Colombian Street food from The Empanada Bar as you take in the atmosphere and enjoy a cocktail (or mocktail).

This is an all ages event (Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult)
