This sonic Sundays we present Groovy Gravy.

A lounge funk band that is 100% Central Coast, bringing a wealth of experience from

four local musicians with extensive music careers: Mark Johns, international

session guitarist/composer, award winning pianist/author Dorian Mode, bassist Fiona

Lugg and highly esteemed drummer Toby Hall.

Groovy Gravy is a smooth quartet playing well known songs from BeeGees to

Bacharach, Bill Withers to Stevie Wonder.

Groovy Gravy play danceable original songs referencing the local culture of the

Central Coast.

Music for the feet and for listening.

Dorian Mode is a highly acclaimed jazz pianist and composer. In addition to his

musical achievements, Dorian is a talented writer, with his humorous novels

published by Penguin and Random House in Europe. Dorian's creative prowess

extends across multiple artistic domains, making him a truly multifaceted artist.

Guitarist and composer Mark Johns is one of the world’s most renowned session

guitarists and performers. Previously based in London for many years, he has

recorded and toured with artists such as Jeff Beck, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston,

Enrique Iglesias, Sting, Mariane Faithful, Julie Driscoll, John Dankworth & Cleo

Lane.

Fiona Lugg is a double/electric bassist with a large skill set playing across jazz

and dance music styles. She travelled the world on ocean liners playing and

arranging music for the ballroom dance band.

Toby Hall is one of Australia's most esteemed drummers, playing on over 30

Australian CD recordings with luminaries Don Burrows, James Morrison, Sandy

Evans, James Greening, Bernie McGann, Dale Barlow, Paul Grabowsky, Mike Nock,

Lloyd Swanton, and Vince Jones. Toby's international collaborations span artists

Sheila Jordan, Ricky Ford, Chuck Findley, and Raymond MacDonald..

This is an all ages event (Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult)
