Live4Life Ballarat - Youth Mental Health First Aid Training - Full Course
Description
Live4Life Ballarat is excited to offer a 2‑day Youth Mental Health First Aid course this March.
We’re aiming to support our local community by providing practical training for sporting club members, coaches, trainers, and community volunteers who work with young people.
This course complements the Teen Mental Health First Aid education that is being rolled out across our 10 participating secondary schools and is part of the broader Live4Life Ballarat initiative.
Adults who undertake the Youth Mental Health First Aid training course will have a better understanding of common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders and psychosis. This course also teaches adults to learn how to identify the signs and symptoms of a developing mental health problem in a young person, how to have a conversation with them when they are in distress or crisis, and how to support them in receiving professional help.
This is a 2-day course. You MUST commit to attending both sessions to receive your accreditation. Please do not book this course if you do not think you will be able to complete it.
Dates of training:
Saturday 14th March 9am - 5pm
Saturday 21st March 9am - 5pm
* Please note: this course is subject to participant numbers, if there are not enough participants for this session to run, we will place you into our next available course.
Cost: $30pp to cover course materials + morning tea and afternoon tea at both sessions. BYO lunch. Training costs are subsidised by the Live4Life Ballarat Partnership Group.
As there is a significant cost associated with the training that are covered by the Partnership Group, there are no refunds for non-attendance. You may be able to attend another Live4Life course, but there are no guarantees.
