Interested in growing food while improving your soil and reducing heavy digging? This practical workshop explores three low-dig gardening approaches: hugelkultur, bale gardening and no-dig beds.

We’ll look at how each method works, when to use them, and how they can improve soil structure, moisture retention and plant health over time. The session focuses on realistic, home-based applications, using locally available materials and simple techniques that can be adapted to a range of garden spaces.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of how to build soil naturally and create productive growing areas with less physical strain and minimal disturbance.

This free workshop is part of the Living Lightly series and is delivered by Bass Coast Adult Learning in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council.
