To find out how to reduce the impact of having a pet - plus keep your costs down - come along to this fun and FREE workshop - if you happen to be walking your pooch around the SJ Farmers Markets, you are welcome to bring them in and get them a free toy or see if you can find them something form the share table we will have at the workshop full of pet products from our SJ Reuse Shop - our workshop attendees welcome to bring something to swap or donate also to take home for your pets!!

This workshop is part of a series of WasteSorted funded free community workshops "SJ Plastic Free Living Program" - the Shire have engaged Waste Education Guru Peg Davies (Lessen with Peg - Rethink Waste www.lessenwithpeg.com) to present a workshop on how to reduce waste and save money when you have horses, chooks, dogs, cats - fur feather or scales! Peg will have lifestyle hacks and interactive demonstrations including (but not limited to) the following topics:

- equine composting and practical tips and tricks for making horse ownership more sustainable

- pet poo composting using buckets (note Waste Sorted will fund some buckets that can be converted for a cheap alternative to the pet poo composters you may have seen on the market

- eco friendly alternatives and creative ways (reusing/converting everyday items) to not only reduce waste but keep your costs down!

- share table available so please bring any pet related items that you would like to gift for others to take home for their pets and you can swap for something for your pets to take home - there will be a collection of items from the SJ Reuse Shop already on the table and Shire Waste Education Officer will be there to tell you all about the SJ Reuse Shop and bargains you can get there!
